Cookie Policy

The complete inventory of cookies and similar technologies WE ARE TOGETHER uses, why, for how long, and how to manage your preferences.

Effective: 30 July 2026Last updated: 30 July 2026

Executive Summary

WE ARE TOGETHER uses a small, deliberately minimal set of first-party cookies — nothing more than what is needed to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, and understand in aggregate how the Platform is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers today, and any future analytics or marketing technology will only run after you have actively consented to it. The full inventory is below; you are always in control at privacy@wearetogether.example.

1. Introduction and Scope

This Cookie Policy explains how WE ARE TOGETHER uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local and session storage) on wearetogether.example. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which governs how we handle the personal data these technologies may involve.

2. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit, allowing that site to recognize your browser on return visits. "Similar technologies" include local storage and session storage — small data stores built into your browser that work similarly to cookies but are not automatically sent with every request.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

We classify every cookie into one of four categories, consistent with the consent options presented in our cookie banner: Strictly Necessary, Functional, Analytics & Attribution, and Marketing. Only the first category is active by default; every other category requires your affirmative consent before it is set.

CookieCategoryPurposeDuration
wat_sessionStrictly NecessaryKeeps you signed in to your Account across page loads.Session (cleared on logout or browser close)
wat_csrfStrictly NecessaryProtects your Account against cross-site request forgery on form submissions.Session
wat_cookie_consentStrictly NecessaryRemembers the cookie preferences you have chosen, so we don't ask again unnecessarily.12 months
wat_visitor_idFunctionalA first-party, anonymous identifier used to keep your experience consistent across visits (e.g., not repeating the same on-site message).12 months
wat_attributionAnalytics & AttributionRecords, in first-party and anonymized form, which channel first brought you to the Platform (e.g., a search engine or a referral link), so we can understand which content is genuinely useful to investors.12 months

4. Third-Party Cookies

We do not currently use third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies of any kind. Should we introduce a third-party analytics or marketing technology in the future, it will be listed in this table, clearly categorized, and will only activate once you have given consent to the relevant category — our consent architecture is built to enforce this by design, not merely by policy.

Why this matters: many platforms describe a consent banner that, in practice, does not actually stop tracking scripts from loading. Ours is architected the other way around — the underlying code checks your consent choice before any non-essential technology is permitted to run.

5. Local Storage and Session Storage

In addition to cookies, we use local storage to remember your display theme (light or dark) and session storage to count page views within a single visit for on-site message frequency capping. Neither is shared with any third party.

6. How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences

You can set your preferences at any time through the cookie consent banner presented on your first visit, or by revisiting it from the footer link "Cookie Preferences." You may also configure your browser to block or delete cookies directly; note that blocking Strictly Necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or submitting forms on the Platform.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy whenever we change the cookies or similar technologies we use, and we will update the cookie table above accordingly.

8. Contact Us

Questions about this Cookie Policy may be directed to privacy@wearetogether.example.

If I decline non-essential cookies, will the Platform still work?

Yes. Strictly Necessary cookies keep you signed in and your forms secure regardless of your other choices. Declining Functional or Analytics cookies only means we won't remember certain preferences or measure engagement in aggregate.

Do you sell data collected through cookies?

No. We do not sell cookie data or any personal data to third parties, under any circumstance.
